Brianna Revisited

A recent trip to Michigan sparked some new friendship and continued Senior Portrait bookings!  I met some great people, saw some old friends and spent quality time with my family there.  I had the opportunity to visit with Tim Blake and spent the day discussing business and how to survive in this economically challenged world.  Tim does an outstanding senior business and my head was spinning all day.  Part of our challenge for 2009-2010 is to retool our business model and focus on seniors, boudoir, and family portraits, as well continuing our successes in the wedding market.

These images that were taken last August portray my vision and mean a lot to me personally.  There are some many grand locations in Michigan to photograph and I look forward to my trip every summer.  I hope the seniors in Greenville are signing up for our “Senior Experience” as we take it on the road again!

Photog Shootout

We had the pleasure of attending a “Photog Shootout” in Atlantic City on Sunday!  This is an ongoing event masterminded by Rob Nichols of Humbled Eyes Photography.  Professional photographers from the East Coast attended the rainy afternoon event.  I ran into my friends Mark Gardner and Neil van Niekirk in front of the Taj Mahal and spent some valuable time with them.  Mark did some second shooting with me in the past and enjoys fishing as much as I do.  Neil ran a wonderful workshop in Philadelphia on lighting and flash.

In my typical fashion I stood off to the side and played with my 14mm lens, while watching, listening, and learning.  Linda and I eventually broke off on our own and I spent time practicing my future “Basic Photography Workshop” with our friend Betsy.  Our first lesson was”Seeing the Light” and it was a blast teaching and watching her progress with the camera.  I even modeled for them, but don’t tell anyone.  There will be lots more on this later!

Here are some images I took during the “Photog Shootout” .  Enjoy!

Basketball Jones

I recently photographed the 6th grade girls basketball team. Photographing sports has always been a passion of mine and getting an unique look is always a challenge.  We did the traditional look, but after asking the parents about the different photos, they all agreed that this one was special.  Thanks to the Ursuline 6th Grade JV Press and their coaches for a wonderful season of basketball!!
