Emily and Chris

Linda and I met up in Westfield, NJ last weekend to get to know Emily and Chris better!  I graduated from Westfield High, so it was a pretty meaningful trip. Emily and Chris are getting married in September in Freehold and we wanted to do some outside the box portraits.  Emily is the lovely daughter of my dear friend Robin and Chris is a rock and roller with a band Split Point.   It was suggested that we do something pretty by the park, but we were having none of that!  We spent an hour by the Westfield train station finding nocks and crannies, beautiful light, and very obscure images.  It was truly a fun artistic exercise and we all had a blast!  eSessions are to get to know each other and Emily and Chris soon relaxed and we became fast friends. Aren’t they HOT!

Maternity Old School

It’s been a long time since I brushed the dust off my strobes and backdrops! I’ve spent the last 8 years learning available and natural light. My studies with Monte Zucker, Kevin Kubota, and Carl Caylor inspired me to be able to find great light in numerous locations. So when Linda and I dragged the equipment out of the garage,  I was very apprehensive as to whether they would work and if I could remember how to do it.

We meet the coolest people in this industry! When Amy and Chris met with me last month to discuss their wedding plans, I knew I had to photograph them immediately. Amy had this beautiful glow and I was mesmerized by her eyes. I was so glad they allowed me to share their maternity. We had a fantastic shoot and I’m sure you will agree that their aura was mystifying!
