Please don’t read…

A recent visit from a wonderful bride prompted this post!  I asked Suzanne if she read my blog and she quickly answered “no”.  Now believe me, I’m not the quickest poster nor do I believe this should be updated every day.  That would take up way too much time and space.  But I do value my blog and the opportunity to add verbiage to my images is wonderful.  My website www.pikthis.com has  gone through many transformations in the last seven or so years of the digital world and is fairly static.  I let my images speak for themselves on my site, but the facebook, myspace, twitter generations love to share their insights.  As do I!

As a test to see who really reads my blog, I am running another silent special on reprints.  Please go visit clients.pikthis.com to order your images, then type in BLOGSPECIAL at check-out.  I am offering a 20% discount on reprint orders until the end of September!  If your gallery has expired, please email me and I will repost it through the 30th of September.  Anyone who actually registers and comments on my blog will receive an additional discount on reprints!  Now we shall see who really reads my blog!!

I can also be found on facebook!  Add me as your friend so I can keep in touch in this hyperactive world.  My business page is also a great place to hang out and see some of my recent works of art!  Thanks for reading this and if you took the title to heart, you lose!   JAB

Marjorie Speaks!

My photography experience with Jeff…. To say it was worth the wait would truly be an understatement. I was nervous as the day approach knowing that for the first time, I would be photographed in my most natural state with someone who has an eye for finding the most beautiful way to capture a person. Due to my schedule, I was only able to give Jeff an hour for the shoot. Looking back I wish we had more time but being the professional Jeff is, he worked smoothly and effortlessly from location to location. After the first few frames I began to become more comfortable taking cues from him and could start to imagine what his eye was seeing. It started to become second nature to place my foot a certain way or to lean one way or another. Jeff really made me feel like I was the most important person to him during that time. I went from being self-conscious about myself to feeling like we became one. It was truly a unique and beautiful experience.

To be honest, I was not as nervous about the shoot itself, rather viewing the images once they were ready. I knew that I would be seeing myself the way the world sees me. Although not everyone stops to see the beauty of the world around us, the person in the shoot would come through exactly as they are. When Jeff sent me the link to 10 images that were ready from earlier in the day, I took a deep breath and clicked on the link. The images were took my breath away, not because I had a personal connection to them but because they really were works of art. He captured my feminine qualities in the most natural way. The beauty of the setting along with his artistic eye created images that I would never have had with anyone else. I thank him for such an amazing experience and think 6 years would be too long to wait to do it again!
